What is the meaning of justice, it is the quality of being
just; fairness. The principle of moral righteousness. Conformity to moral
rightness in action or attitude; righteousness. But does the U.S. practice true
justice anymore?
The justice system only works for the wealthy. The justice systems has taken out the true value of righteousness and replace that with how much money you are willing to spend to clear your name. There is no equal fairness in this system that supposed to punish the unjust and protect the just. In today’s justice system it seems to be a cycle of corruption within the system. Wealthy people get good lawyer or family own private lawyers and basically pay their way out of any accusation they were accused of. The same accusation can go against a low income based person and because they are unable to dish out large sums of money, their accusation will lead them to jail for a certain amount of days or months. Take the case of Troy Davis vs. The State of Georgia for example. A poor man unable to buy a lawyer was given “Public Defenders” to defend him in his case. Not only was he jailed for most of the time while his trial was going on. Once he was convicted of the murder of Mark MacPhail he was sentence to death in August 1991. Now let’s use another murder case such as O.J. Simpson vs. The State of California. O.J. was accused of murdering his ex-wife Nicole. While his trial was going on he wasn’t jailed for long periods of time. He paid his bond and was walking around freely as he pleased. Then he went out and gave lawyers bundles of money to help defend his case. With O.J. Simpson high dollar lawyers he was found not guilty in the murder of Nicole. See the system of law is directly involved in the defending and prosecution and supervision of those suspected of or charged with criminal offenses until proven innocent. But my question is does all it take is a little bit of cash to walk scotch free, whether innocent or not?
See it
doesn’t matter anymore whether you are guilty or not. It doesn’t matter whether
your punishment is fair not. It’s all about what you can prove in court and how
much are you able and willing to give to the court. The laws were made by the
congressional branch and legislatures and were design originally to protect the
just and innocent. But in today’s society, it seems to me that it protects the
rich and wealthy. Even if your name has good credit behind it you still get a
lean-way in the court room. Take for instance a Burns High Student vs. A Burns
High Teacher. A teacher accused a student of assaulting her by touching her
wrist during a discussion over a piece of paper. Seven witness wrote a
statements and told the judge that they never seen the former student grab or
touch the teacher. But because the teacher was better credited than the
student, the judge found the student guilty. Now seven people who saw the
argument the whole time swore under oath they didn’t see the student touch her.
But since she was a teacher and it was the student’s words against a teacher
the judge ruled in her favor. Now ask yourself where is the just in that.
Are the laws that are passed by congress and
legislature fair or just? Does the law really protect the safety of the
American citizen? Absolutely not. According to “RTAmerica” President Obama
resigned the patriot act that will allow they government to spy on American
citizens through social media such as you tube, Facebook, twitter, etc. and
seize personally data in the name of homeland security. This to me is an
extreme violation to our privacy.
Laws are
made for the just and given to protect the innocent, but do they? In today’s
judicial system so many laws are being bent backwards. Laws do not protect in
the form of righteousness or fairness, but by the amount of your money, ethics
or importance. The laws should be fair and just laws, but in fact they are very
unfair.

So many people are so blinded by the justice system that they think all rulings amongst each American citizen is “fair” or “equal”. But it is not.
The justice system has a sneaky and sly way of seeming innocent and for the people. But many people see the system for the money hungry, dirty system it truly is. At times the justice systems seems to have taken out the true value of righteousness and replace that with how much money you are willing to spend to clear your name. As if the justice system only works for the wealthy. I thought our system was built to punish the unjust and protect the just. But in today’s justice system it seems to be a cycle of corruption within the system and so many American citizens are starting to become viticims of this. Many times we set our justice system on such a high peddle stool that we come to think the system cant be wrong, the system makes no mistake. but how very wrong some are about our system. Every day there are counts of people who where convicted of a crime and later on proven not guility who where at the time proven guilty. There are also many people who have suffered from the unfair conviction of a man or women in a black gown simply because they don’t have the money to fight back and cant play war with the system. The ones that do have the money to fight back are usually let off on few to little consequences and charges. But this is simply the method the system uses to help pay the lawyers, prosecutors, judges, legislators, etc. So this is where people like me bring light to the dirt buried within our justice system. How the power of money has corrupted our system is disgusting, but yet scary to me. To know if you simply do not have the money to get proper representation that you could be left guilty for a crime you simply didn’t commit. The same accusation can go against a low income based person and because they are unable to dish out large sums of money or post bail, their accusation will lead them to jail for a certain amount of days or months. It upsets me that nothing is pure no more. There’s always a little piece of dirt here and there. Even in our justice system. I feel as American citizens that we need to bring light to this before it gets out of hand, some would argue that it already is out of hand. But by bringing they corruptions out of they closet we are able to show people the system isn’t everything we thought it was. Hopefully bringing to light they corruption within the system will later help address what needs to be fix about our American justice system. That way generations on down will not have to face the same unfair rulings as so many American citizens already have.
